Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases on September 24, 2021

A new number of new cases of Coronavirus was announced for September 24, 2021 by the authorities in Romania, and as you can see, we are again talking about high numbers of infections, as has been happening for quite some time now, the pandemic being on an upward trend for some time.

In hospitals, there are very big problems in certain areas of the country, and this is because the number of beds available, especially at ATI, is starting to become insufficient again, so doctors are starting to make new appeals to people to get vaccinated before they get into the situation of not having a place to stay in hospitals.

The vaccination campaign is starting to register interest from people again, the numbers are increasing from day to day, it is true that it is very easy, but at least there is a higher interest in immunization during this period, while the 4th wave is increasingly dangerous , Unfortunately.

"Until today, September 24, 1.180.097 cases of infection with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) were registered on the territory of Romania, of which 514 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection.

1.093.151 patients were declared cured.

In the last 24 hours, 7.116 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, of which 136 are re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

**As for cases from abroad, these are cases of citizens who came to Romania having been infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total of new cases not allocated by county.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 634 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 36.109 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 23.09.2021 (10:00) – 24.09.2021 (10:00) 145 deaths (78 men and 67 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, were reported by the INSP. Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoşani, Brăila, Buzău, Caraş-Severin, Calarasi, Cluj, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iasi, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea and the City of Bucharest.

Among the 145 deaths, 1 was registered in the age category 20-29 years, 8 in the age category 40-49 years, 14 in the age category 50-59 years, 35 in the age category 60-69 years, 41 in the 70-79 age category and 46 in the over 80 age category.

133 of the recorded deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 6 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 6 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

No deaths prior to the reference interval were reported.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 9.476. Of these, 1.116 are hospitalized at ATI.

Out of the total of hospitalized patients, 255 are minors, 239 being hospitalized in wards and 16 in ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 9.484.993 RT-PCR tests and 3.019.261 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 21.211 RT-PCR tests were performed (9.432 based on case definition and medical protocol and 11.779 on request) and 35.449 rapid antigen tests.

On the territory of Romania, 43.720 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 8.521 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 60.072 people are in home quarantine, and 225 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

 

In the last 24 hours, 5.195 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 621 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on September 23, 1.125 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 258.001 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 3 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
