Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases from September 26, 2021

A new number of new cases of Coronavirus has been confirmed for September 26, 2021, the authorities showing us again how serious the pandemic situation is in our country, so we must continue to be very vigilant and protect ourselves.

Unfortunately, signals are constantly coming from the hospitals that the situation is very serious, but things are moving towards an increasing occupancy of the number of beds, especially in intensive care, and the number of deaths has also been continuously increasing for over a week.

The vaccination campaign seems to be going in a much better direction, and this is because more and more vaccinations are being reported daily by the authorities, which means that it is possible that the daily numbers will continue to grow in the coming weeks.

"Until today, September 26, 1.194.106 cases of infection with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been registered on the territory of Romania, of which 821 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection .

1.098.154 patients were declared cured.

In the last 24 hours, 6.333 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, of which 164 are of reinfected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection .

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

**As for cases from abroad, these are cases of citizens who came to Romania having been infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total of new cases not allocated by county.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 468 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 36.341 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 25.09.2021 (10:00) - 26.09.2021 (10:00) 111 deaths (58 men and 53 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Arad, were reported by the INSP , Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoşani, Brăila, Brașov, Buzău, Caraş-Severin, Calarasi, Cluj, Constanta, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Gorj, Harghita, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea.

Among the 111 deaths, 1 was registered in the age category 30-39 years, 10 in the age category 50-59 years, 30 in the age category 60-69 years, 32 in the age category 70-79 years and 38 in age category over 80 years.

107 of the registered deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, and 4 deceased patients did not present comorbidities.

No deaths prior to the reference interval were reported.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 10.313. Of these, 1.220 are hospitalized at ATI.

Out of the total of hospitalized patients, 267 are minors, 246 being hospitalized in wards and 21 in ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 9.523.585 RT-PCR tests and 3.092.303 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 16.062 RT-PCR tests (6.201 based on case definition and medical protocol and 9.861 on demand) and 28.208 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 49.407 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 9.185 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 59.899 people are in home quarantine, and 227 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

 

In the last 24 hours, 4.278 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on September 25, 1.484 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 290.350 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
