A new extremely large number of new cases of Coronavirus was confirmed by the authorities in Romania today, and we are talking about a new extremely serious evolution of infected people, which represents an extremely serious problem.

Hospitals are very busy among people during this period, and this has led to an overcrowding of intensive care beds throughout the country, the authorities asking people to protect themselves to avoid a possible infection now.

The vaccination campaign is still going much better, and this is because the number of vaccinations is increasing, even if the vast majority are vaccinations with the third dose, those with the first dose still remaining low.

"Until today, September 30, 1.233.668 cases of infection with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been registered on the territory of Romania, of which 1.575 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after first infection.

1.118.816 patients were declared cured.

In the last 24 hours, 12.032 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID -19) were registered, of which 187 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection .

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Until today, 37.041 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 29.09.2021 (10:00) – 30.09.2021 (10:00) 176 deaths (89 men and 87 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, were reported by the INSP. Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Caraș-Severin, Calarasi, Cluj, Constanta, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galati, Gorj, Harghita, Iasi, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Vrancea and the City of Bucharest.

Among the 176 deaths, 2 were registered in the age category 0-9 years, 5 in the age category 30-39 years, 10 in the age category 40-49 years, 12 in the age category 50-59 years, 32 in age category 60-69 years, 62 in the age category 70-79 years and 53 in the age category over 80 years.

165 of the recorded deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 8 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 3 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

Of the total of 176 deceased patients, 163 were unvaccinated and 13 vaccinated. Of the 13 vaccinated patients, 11 had comorbidities, 1 had no comorbidities, and for 1 patient no comorbidities have been reported to date. The deceased vaccinated patients were aged between 58 and 86 years.

No deaths prior to the reference interval were reported.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 12.168. Of these, 1.364 are hospitalized at ATI.

Out of the total of hospitalized patients, 315 are minors, 299 being hospitalized in wards and 16 in ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 9.611.012 RT-PCR tests and 3.245.416 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 25.581 RT-PCR tests (12.775 based on case definition and medical protocol and 12.806 on request) and 42.395 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 61.976 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 10.630 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 63.120 people are in home quarantine, and 166 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 7.134 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 859 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on September 29, 1.187 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 264.500 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.

The calls are taken by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for verification of the reported aspects.

Among the Romanian citizens confirmed with infection with the new coronavirus, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine."
