The authorities' predictions regarding reaching a number of 12.000 new cases of infection with the Coronavirus reported daily came true yesterday, unfortunately the pandemic situation is still very serious, and now we are heading towards 20.000 new daily cases.

In hospitals, things are extremely serious, with very few intensive care beds available for those hospitalized, so the authorities are looking for constant solutions to be able to treat patients who end up infected in any of the medical units.

The vaccination campaign records increasing numbers of vaccinations, but this is thanks to those who are immunized with the third dose of vaccine, not thanks to those who are immunized for the first time, and this is one of the biggest problems.

"Until today, October 1, 1.244.555 cases of infection with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been registered on the territory of Romania, of which 1.768 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection.

1.121.721 patients were declared cured.

In the last 24 hours, 10.887 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, of which 193 are of reinfected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection .

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 3.111 people were reconfirmed positive.

Until today, 37.210 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 30.09.2021 (10:00) and 01.10.2021 (10:00), the INSP reported 169 deaths (100 men and 69 women), of patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba hospitals, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brăila, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Calarasi, Cluj, Constanta, Covasna, Dolj, Galați, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Iasi, Ilfov, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Neamț, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui, Vrancea and the City of Bucharest.

Among the 169 deaths, 3 were registered in the age category 20-29 years, 1 in the age category 30-39 years, 6 in the age category 40-49 years, 17 in the age category 50-59 years, 36 in age category 60-69 years, 63 in the age category 70-79 years and 43 in the age category over 80 years.

All registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.

Of the total of 169 deceased patients, 158 were unvaccinated and 11 vaccinated. The 11 vaccinated patients had comorbidities. The deceased vaccinated patients were aged between 51 and 91 years.

No deaths prior to the reference interval were reported.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 12.592. Of these, 1.391 are hospitalized at ATI.

Out of the total of hospitalized patients, 373 are minors, 355 being hospitalized in wards and 18 in ATI.

Until this date, at the national level, 9.635.994 RT-PCR tests and 3.287.481 rapid antigenic tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 24.982 RT-PCR tests (11.844 based on case definition and medical protocol and 13.138 on request) and 42.065 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 69.305 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 9.905 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 62.917 people are in home quarantine, and 166 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 7.072 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112 and 810 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on September 30, 1.211 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 236.916 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code."
