Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases May 24, 2022

The coronavirus in Romania continues to spread during this period, the authorities in our country continue to confirm new people who are infected, the daily reports published by them show us that the number of those who are confirmed as infected is still decreasing.

Coronaviurs in Romania no longer generates as many new cases as in the past, which is excellent news, but in Europe the situation remains quite serious, with some countries still reporting tens of thousands of new cases of infection every day, unfortunately for us.

In Romania, the situation of new infections generated by the Coronavirus should remain stable until the fall, with few cases registered at the national level, and a possible new wave of infections is announced to have a low impact at the national level, which is however excellent news.

"In the last 24 hours, 491 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, 257 more than the previous day. 73 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized.

**As for cases from abroad, these are cases of citizens who came to Romania having been infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total of new cases not allocated by county.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 50 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 632, 26 less than the previous day. Also, 96 people are hospitalized at ATI, 4 less than the previous day. Of the 96 patients admitted to ATI, 85 are unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of admitted patients, 39 are minors, all of them admitted to the wards, 3 more than the previous day and 0 in the ICU, the same as the previous day.
