The Minister of Education Important Last Minute Measures for all Romanian Schools

The Minister of Education talks about the very important measures that were adopted during this period by the authorities in Romania, some that all Romanians should know about, and this is because after the announcement of the new education laws, the consultations regarding them also began.

The Minister of Education talks below about what happened at the most recent consultations of this kind, but also about what is happening with CNATDCU based on the provisions of the new education laws, which could be adopted in the following months, and promulgated by in the fall of 2023.

"The Ministry is in full consultation process on the draft education laws. The series was opened by discussing and accepting the proposals formulated by the National Council of Students on the subject of the pre-university education law and was followed by the debate proposed by the "A Voice for Education" Alliance.

On Thursday, July 21, consultations were held with the trade union federations in pre-university education (the "Spiru Haret" Education Trade Union Federation and the Free Education Trade Union Federation), and today, July 22, consultations were held with the "Alma Mater" National Trade Union Federation ” on the side of the draft law on higher education.

Also during this day, a debate will take place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education on the topic of supporting excellence through Centers of Excellence, an event that is part of the series of 10 debates scheduled in the first 10 days of consultations. We want the dialogue to remain sustained, in the context in which the calendar allocated to the public consultation runs until the end of the next month (August 24).

We appreciate the constructive nature of the proposals formulated in the meetings so far, but also the content of the proposals sent to the e-mail address dedicated to receiving feedback on draft laws. Thus, in the first 10 days after the launch of the drafts for consultation, we received almost 500 proposals, mostly of a nature to bring more quality to the texts of the draft laws.

The National Ethics Commission of University Titles will verify the existence of plagiarism in doctoral theses! After the finding of plagiarism by the National Commission for the Ethics of University Degrees, the Ministry of Education will have the obligation to file an action in court to cancel the order by which the doctor's degree was granted. The provisions of the new Law on Higher Education, in the event of its adoption, will be applied for the future, pending referrals will be resolved by CNATDCU according to the rules applicable at the time of their formulation."
