The Minister of Defense published today a last-minute announcement aimed at all Romanians in the country, an announcement that millions of people should know about by now, and this is because we are talking about a meeting that Angel Tilvar had but The head of the National Guard of the American state of Alabama in Romania.

The Minister of Defense talks about the discussions he had with the American general in Bucharest, discussing some very important topics for Romania, and this in the context in which our country is a very important ally of the USA in this region, especially in the context of Russia's war against Ukraine.

"Today I met with the head of the Alabama National Guard (ALNG), Major General Sheryl E. Gordon. The meeting took place in the context of the organization, between December 6-8, at the "Carol I" National Defense University of the "Women, peace and security" conference.

During the meeting, I highlighted the importance of this topic and stated that our country has taken important steps in the implementation of Resolution 1.325 (2000) of the United Nations Security Council - Women, peace and security, adopted on October 31, 2000.

The Ministry of National Defense took over the leadership of the process of promoting and implementing the Women, Peace and Security Agenda at the national level, ensuring the National Focal Point in the relationship with national and international organizations active in the field of reference.

Together with Major General Sheryl E. Gordon, I also analyzed, in context, the security situation in the area and the implementation of allied measures to strengthen the deterrence and defense posture, respectively the stage of military infrastructure development projects and the planning of training activities with ALGN soldiers . The military delegation led by Major General Sheryl E. Gordon is making a working visit to Romania, from December 4-10.

Along with the participation in the event "Women, peace and security", the ALGN chief's program includes meetings with representatives of the management of the "Carol I" National Defense University, the "Henri Coandă" Air Force Academy, the "Nicolae Bălcescu" Land Forces Academy and the National Military College " Dimitri Cantemir". At the same time, Major General Sheryl E. Gordon will take part in training activities organized by the Multinational Corps Southeast Command."
