Defense Minister: LAST MINUTE announcements, on Christmas Eve, for millions of Romanians

Minister of Defense LAST MINUTE Announcements Christmas Eve, Millions of Romanians

The Minister of Defense made a series of last-minute announcements even on Christmas Eve in Romania, and as you can see below, they target millions of people from all over the country because, first of all, he talks about the discussions he had with the commanders of the Romanian troops from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo and Poland, regarding the security situation.

The Minister of Defense also talks below about the meeting he had in Seoul with his South Korean counterpart, and this is because he discussed with him the cooperation that Romania wants to do in the military field, and not only that, and you can find more details about the discussions below.

"Today, I discussed with the commanders of the troops deployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo and Poland, about the security situation in the areas of responsibility. In the current context, a constant level of attention is needed on the Kosovo region, where there is already an involvement of international actors in a solution, at least provisionally, and a de-escalation of the situation there.

I thank the more than 500 Romanian soldiers for the way they carry out their missions and collaborate with colleagues from allied and partner countries. This year, for the Holy Holidays, our servicemen are far from their country and their loved ones, but I am sure that their hearts will be at home. We are grateful and deserve our full respect for the sacrifices you make every day on foreign missions. Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas!

I had a meeting in Seoul with my South Korean counterpart, Lee Jong-Sup. The discussions focused on cooperation in the field of defense, the international security situation, as well as the prospects for strengthening cooperation within international organizations.

We invited South Korean companies to invest in Romania's defense industry and emphasized that technology transfer is particularly important, especially in the current strategic context. A potential cooperation in the field could contribute to the development of common projects advantageous for both sides, and the continuation of the political-military dialogue is essential for the consolidation of bilateral cooperation in the field of defense.

Today's meeting represents a continuation of the dialogue boosted in September, by the signing in Seoul of the Letter of Intent between the two relevant ministries, a document that constitutes the basis for the establishment and expansion of bilateral military relations between Romania and the Republic of Korea."
