Astazi a aparut un zvon care indica faptul ca Apple ar putea fi cumparat o firma suedeza care dezvolta software pentru recunoastere faciala. Firma se numeste Polar Rose si lucreaza de cativa ani la dezvoltarea de software ce va permite recunoasterea unei persoane prin simpla indreptare a obiectivului camerei asupra fetei sale. Principalul produs al firmei Polar Rose se numeste FaceCloud si permite identificarea unei persoane folosind camera unui telefon si pe baza imaginii obtinute telefonul afiseaza informatii privind conturile respectivei persoane de pe retelele de socializare. O demonstratie a acestui produs o aveti in clipul video de mai sus unde este facut un mic test al aplicatiei Recognizr care are implementate toate functiile mentionate mai sus. Presedintele companiei a refuzat sa comenteze zvonul, insa se pare ca Apple a cumparat astazi toate actiunile companiei.
The Malmö-based company specializes in developing technology which makes facial recognition, not unlike what Apple already has and uses iPhoto for Mac OS X. Through sophisticated algorithms, manages the software of the Arctic Rose to recognize faces in images and the company offers three different products using this solution. Two of the (Face Cloud and FaceLib) them seem to be very interesting for Apple.
Company CEO Carl Silbersky would today not comment on the affair.
“I do not know what this is about,” he says, and would otherwise not give any comments.
The same information comes from the company’s Chief Technology Officer Jan Erik Solem. Other sources close to the Polar Rose, however, confirms that the deal is, if not completely, at least in the final stage.
