As you already know, it was last night released officially worldwide, perhaps the most awaited game for iOS Devices – Infinity Blade. Built on Epic Games' Unreal 3 graphics engine, Infinity Blade is by far the most graphically advanced game for iDevices in the AppStore. For the first time I saw a short demo of this game on September 1, 2010 during an Apple conference where for a few minutes 2 representatives of the company Epic Games went on stage with Steve Jobs to show us how the world of gaming can be changed on iDevices.

In the 3 months that have passed since the presentation, Epic Games changed the name of the game, continued to work on perfection and last night officially launched the product in the AppStore. Being a fan of World of Warcraft, at some point, I was somewhat happy to find some of the elements of that game implemented in Infinity Blade and here it talks about items, spells, point system, abilities, parry, dodging, etc. From the same WoW I noticed another element, extremely annoying, popularly called "farming". In WoW, farming means killing as many NPCs as possible to obtain various objects either for quests or killing them to obtain XP and evolve to the next level.

In Infinity Blade this "farming" represents the monsters that must be killed over and over and over and over and over again to reach the boss in the castle. The game starts quite nicely with a video in which a boss will kill an ancestor. The gameplay starts 20 years later with you, a descendant of the murdered ancestor, and your mission is to kill the boss. To get to it you have to kill around 7-10 creatures that offer you various objects, experience, money, etc., and after you kill them you reach the boss who will kill you in less than 1 minute and the gameplay takes over from the beginning with you in front of the castle with the 7-10 creatures in front and the boss in the castle.

After about 4 attempts, which didn't last more than half an hour, I decided that Infinity Blade can remain forgotten on my Springboard until the next restore when it will inevitably be completely deleted. I like this kind of games, but the repetitiveness with this boss becomes extremely extremely tiring because it is very difficult to kill him and until you reach level 50, which he has, and you have the necessary power to defeat him, it will take some time.

In my opinion, Infinity Blade is an extraordinary game with a very good gameplay, if you manage to pass a boss ending and there is something else after it, but I am waiting to see if Epic Games will keep their word and give us the opportunity to to do multiplayer missions or to do battles against our friends. For now, Infinity Blade is a game for those with a strong character because you need a lot of self-control to repeat the same thing dozens of times until you manage to kill that boss.
