TinyUmbrella brings iOS 4.2.1 terminals out of Recovery Mode!

This evening, the developer of the TinyUmbrella application released a new version of the application that can remove from Recovery Mode the terminals that have iOS 4.2.1 installed. You know that if you have an iPad baseband and restore to iOS 4.2.1, you will receive error 1015 and the terminal will enter Recovery Mode from where you cannot remove it. This new version of TinyUmbrella solves this problem and takes your device out of Recovery Mode. For now, the program is only available for Mac OS X, but a version for Windows is in the works and will be available soon.

To remove a device from Recovery Mode after receiving error 1015 during the restore to iOS 4.2.1, you must enter it into DFU Mode. To enter it in DFU Mode, follow the steps below:

  • hold down the Lock button for 3 seconds;
  • while holding down the Lock button, press the Home button and keep both pressed for another 10 seconds;
  • let go of the Lock button and keep pressing only Home until greenpois0n recognizes the terminal and starts the jailbreak process

TinyUmbrella 4.21.12 is available in BETA version ONLY for Mac OS X here.
