GTA III will be released for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on December 15

We told you last month that a version for the iOS platform of the famous game Grand Theft Auto III will be released this year, and today the company Rockstar Games announced that on December 15th we will have the game in the App Store. The decision to release this version of the game comes after the celebration of 10 years since its release for other platforms and in the image above we have a first screenshot of the future title. Although initially it was said that the game will work only on iPhone 4S and iPad 2, those from Rockstar Games have declared that other iDevices will be able to run it.

Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition will be available for select new generation iOS and Android devices on the App Store and Android Marketplace next week, December 15th for $4.99. Below is an updated list of devices to be supported at launch, along with some brand new screenshots from both the iOS and Android versions (also look for a new trailer to coincide with the official release next week).

Apple iOS Devices: iPad 1 & 2, iPhone 4 & 4S, iPod touch 4th Generation

You see that only iPhone 4/4S, iPad1/2 and iPod Touch 4G will run Grand Theft Auto III 10 Year Anniversary Edition and the price of the game will be €3.99. I assume that the game will be available in the form of a universal application and as shown in the screenshot above, it seems that it will be one of the most advanced from a graphical point of view. I for one think that Grand Theft Auto III 10 Year Anniversary Edition could make Gameloft's Gangstar series forgotten, but I'm waiting to see the game because the pictures and trailers aren't worth much.
