1.1 billion iPhones, iPads or iPod Touches have been sold by Apple

1 billion iDevices

If today is still dedicated to premieres for the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, well, we also have a first in terms of the total number of iPhone, iPad si iPod Touch-s sold in the almost 8 years of the products' existence. According to the Romanian analyst Horace Dediu, Apple has sold over 1.1 billion iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches worldwide, the figure being impressive for a single company producing mobile terminals.

Unlike competitors who have hundreds of models of mobile terminals on offer and use the operating system Google, Apple he uses himself own iOS and has only a few dozen models of iDevices in its own offer. To be honest, few manufacturers of mobile terminals can boast of such achievements in just 8 years, and those from Apple have earned enough money not to expect praise from others.

As you can see from the graph, the sales of iDevices began to grow seriously from the middle of 2011, after the iPhone 4S was launched together with Siri and Apple seriously expanded its network of partners it works with. We have the biggest jumps after the autumn launches for the new iPhone terminals and iPad tablets, the Apple company reaching in just 4 years to sell most of the figure presented now.

Although the Apple company has sold over 1.1 billion iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches worldwide, at the moment approximately three quarters of them are still actively used by their owners. In this idea we can say that over 800 million iDevices are used worldwide, much less than all active Android terminals, but this is perfectly normal.
