Galaxy S8 – the screen covers 90% of the front panel

The Galaxy S8 will have a screen that will cover over 90% of the front panel, a first for the Samsung company.

It seems like for Galaxy S8 the Samsung company intends to make a radical change aimed at fulfilling the dreams of many of its customers. More precisely, the new OLED screen prepared by Samsung will cover almost the entire surface of the front panel, without leaving thick edges, as is currently the case.

This is not the first time we hear about the implementation of this type of screen in the Galaxy S8, and the multiple rumors that state this change do nothing but confirm it. Samsung certainly has a multitude of prototypes of the Galaxy S8 in development, and some certainly have screens that cover the entire front panel.

According to some information from within the Samsung company, it seems that at the moment the Koreans are investing significant resources to bring this change to the Galaxy S8. A Samsung Display engineer is the one who officially confirmed everything, saying that the Galaxy S8 screen will cover over 90% of the terminal's front panel.

Considering that we are talking about information coming from a Samsung engineer, it is without a doubt that this change will be offered in 2017. Those from Samsung are trying to confirm as many of the Galaxy S8 changes as possible to keep people's attention focused on product, the company's image being seriously affected by the Galaxy Note 7 problems.

"Samsung Display would roll out a full-screen display whose display area ratio (a scale that measures space taken up by a display on the front part of a handset) reaches more than 90 percent next year."

At the moment, most Android smartphones have screens that cover 80% of the surface of the front panel, but Samsung wants to reach 99%. Of course, the Galaxy S8 will not have such a large screen, but with it, an evolution will begin that will lead to covering the entire front panel with an OLED screen.

Samsung tries to bring innovative functions to its products, but those from Xiaomi took it before them with a smartphone whose screen covers more than 90% of the front panel.
