iPhone – 1.2 Billion Units Sold in 10 years

iPhone 1.2 billion units were sold in the 10 years of availability on global markets, the figure being an impressive one for a manufacturer like Apple. We are talking about an average of 120 million iPhone units sold annually by the American company, but we know that in reality sales have evolved from a few million units sold by Apple to over 200 million units sold annually.

The iPhone has generated revenues of 250 billion dollars for the Apple company during this entire period of time, a truly remarkable figure. Those from Apple register very high revenues from the sales of the iPhone series, but also the highest profit in the entire industry, outranking manufacturers such as Samsung, who obtain 5-8 times less profit, depending on the products launched.

The iPhone generated revenues of only 760 million dollars in its first 3 months of existence, that is, less than half a week of sales for the current iPhone series. This shows us how much the iPhone series has evolved until now, the Apple company managing to make an extremely profitable product, which is still the most popular on the market 10 years after its launch and shows no signs of being ignored by customers too soon.

The iPhone did not enter the market as the most popular smartphone, but it has certainly been the most popular mobile phone for several years now, and Apple is taking full advantage of that.

"Apple has shipped 1.2 billion iPhones worldwide cumulatively in the past 10 years. Total global iPhone revenues have reached three quarters of a trillion dollars since the first model was launched in 2007."
