Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), confirmed yesterday, in secret, the launch of the product that many of its customers and fans are waiting for, but which until now has been postponed in a completely mysterious way, it also being confirmed by iOS 12.2. I am of course talking about AirPower, the famous wireless charging pad, which was presented in 2018 by the Apple company, but which until now has not been put on sale by those from Cupertino, in a completely surprising way.
Apple would have ordered the start of AirPower production at the beginning of this year, but so far the new product has not been launched, despite the fact that every day of this week, except today, Apple has launched a new product. AirPower is still waiting, but the image below appeared on the Cupertino website yesterday, after the new version of AirPods headphones was launched, with a case with wireless charging.
In this image, Apple presents the new version of AirPods placed on an AirPower charging pad, practically confirming both the launch of this new product and the fact that the new headphones will be compatible with it. Apple has redone the image that promotes AirPower and its utility for AirPods headphones, or iPhone XS phones, these being included in the image instead of the old iPhone X, which were initially used to promote this new product.
AirPower has a main and very important utility in that it allows charging up to 3 Apple products simultaneously, including showing how much energy there is in the battery of each of them. At the moment there is no other product capable of doing this, and probably there won't be either, because Apple will more than likely want to keep this function of AirPower exclusive to its product, and will restrict others' access to it.
