Following the auction for the TV rights of the Romanian Football League 1, RCS & RDS announced that the DigiSport television stations will broadcast the football matches from our country in the next 5 years, continuing the tradition until now.
RCS & RDS is not limited only to League 1, and this is because since last year the television station has started to broadcast the Champions League matches, but also from several other foreign football leagues. Of course, the tennis tournaments in which the Romanian players participate are transmitted to a certain extent by those from RCS & RDS for clients, along with many other important sports competitions from all over the planet.

RCS & RDS is one of the companies that will contribute to the collection of 28 million euros, which must be paid annually for the TV rights of the Romanian Football League 1, part of the money also going to the clubs. The amount is only 500.000 euros higher than the one paid for the previous license for the TV rights, but it was not the people from RCS & RDS who bought it, but the company that owns the Look TV television stations.
It is clear that the main source of income for League 1 clubs is television rights. This is what happens at the international level as well. It's a 40% dependence on television rights, at the top 40 clubs in the world. We have to oblige the clubs that a certain amount, from the television rights, goes to the football academies. The current contract expires at the end of this season, which means that in March-April we should have another contract. We are already in discussions with the current media rights holders. We are quite advanced. The amount will be 27.5 million euros, plus VAT. The contract will also be signed for 5 years.
The money paid for televising football matches is essential for clubs in Romania, the majority of their budget being composed of this amount, unfortunately for us. Those from RCS & RDS have been broadcasting League 1 football matches for several years, and the television stations they created started from this premise, many of the clients choosing the services of the operator precisely because it also broadcasts these matches.
