Coronavirus Romania Increase New Cases March 27

The Coronavirus pandemic continues in force in Romania, the authorities in our country publishing today new information about the evolution of the situation, and unfortunately we are talking about a new increase in the number of new cases, as has been happening for some time now.

The number of people hospitalized in intensive care is also increasing during this period, as well as the number of deaths, and this is a very serious problem for everyone, the numbers will continue to increase significantly.

The vaccination campaign still continues at an alert pace, with over 50.000 new vaccinations given every day by the authorities, and closer to 2 million people immunized with 1 or 2 doses already, this number being constantly increasing.

"Until today, March 27, on the territory of Romania, 932.179 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.

834.162 patients were declared cured.

Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 5.869 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 1.175 people were reconfirmed positive. The distribution of these cases by county can be found in the table below.

Until today, 22.997 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 26.03.2021 (10:00) - 27.03.2021 (10:00) 162 deaths (76 men and 86 women) of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Alba, Argeș, Arad, were reported , Bacău, Bihor, Bistrita-Năsăud, Brăila, Botoșani, Brașov, Calarasi, Cluj, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Dâmbovița, Dolj, Galați, Giurgiu, Gorj, Hunedoara, Ialomița, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Olt, Prahova, Sălaj , Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiș, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Vrancea, Ilfov and the City of Bucharest.

Of these, 2 deaths were registered in the age category 30-39 years, 5 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 11 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 44 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 56 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 44 deaths in the over 80 age category.

151 of the recorded deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities, 2 deceased patients did not present comorbidities, and for 9 deceased patients no comorbidities have been reported to date.

In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 12.332. Of these, 1.373 are hospitalized at ATI. 

Until this date, at the national level, 6.634.693 RT-PCR tests and 565.902 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 25.528 RT-PCR tests (14.150 based on case definition and medical protocol and 11.378 on demand) and 11.616 rapid antigen tests were performed.

On the territory of Romania, 69.565 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 15.942 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 53.657 people are in home quarantine, and 97 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 5.107 calls were made to the single emergency number 112 and 828 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on March 26, 6.679 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 1.219.608 lei.

Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 5 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for thwarting the fight against diseases, an act provided for and punished by art. 352 Criminal Code.

We remind citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operationalized, starting on 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of health protection rules can be reported.
