The vaccination campaign is stagnating, and at the weekend there were again small numbers of vaccinations with the first dose, but the authorities are looking for new methods to convince Romanians to vaccinate in much larger numbers in the following weeks.
"Until today, July 26, on the territory of Romania, 1.082.376 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
1.047.291 patients were declared cured.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 84 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. The distribution of total cases and new cases by county can be found in the table below.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Until today, 34.270 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 25.07.2021 (10:00) - 26.07.2021 (10:00) the INSP reported 2 deaths (1 man and 1 woman), of patients infected with the new coronavirus, admitted to hospitals in Constanța county and Bucharest municipality.
Of these, 1 was registered in the age category 60-69 years and 1 in the age category 70-70 years.
Both deaths are of patients who had comorbidities.
No deaths prior to the reference interval were reported.
In the health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 316. Of these, 38 are hospitalized at ATI.
Until this date, at the national level, 8.627.966 RT-PCR tests and 1.765.016 rapid antigen tests have been processed. In the last 24 hours, 4.087 RT-PCR tests (1.678 based on case definition and medical protocol and 2.409 on request) and 7.289 rapid antigen tests were performed.
Also, since the last information provided by the GCS, the results of 80 RT-PCR tests, processed prior to the last 24 hours and transmitted until July 26, were also reported
On the territory of Romania, 704 people confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 464 people are in institutional isolation. Also, 42.769 people are in home quarantine, and 43 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
In the last 24 hours, 196 calls were made to the single emergency number 112.
As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on July 25, 463 contraventional sanctions, in the amount of 73.250 lei."
