WhatsApp, the largest messaging platform in the world with over 2 billion active users globally, is making one of the most anticipated changes by all its users. For years it has been asked to implement the possibility to hide the online status within WhatsApp, although various third-party applications for Android do this, now this is happening, the change being developed in secret by the American company.
WhatsApp, as you can see in the image below, is working on a very important change for the dedicated iPhone and Android application, and based on it we can select who can see if we are online or not. You know that when you talk to someone, in the conversation interface, our status in the network is displayed in the upper part of the WhatsApp application screen, whether we are connected and reading the respective messages, or if we are writing something there.
WhatsApp online status will be able to be hidden from anyone
As the you can see and in the image above, WhatsApp will implement a series of changes in the privacy settings menu based on which we will be able to choose who can see this information. Now we can only choose who sees when we last accessed the platform, but thanks to these new settings, we will also be able to hide whether we are online at a given moment or not, which comes as great news for everyone who uses the application on iPhone and Android.
In the last year, WhatsApp has implemented many changes aimed at making the application more secure and offering a higher level of privacy to people, a few weeks ago other similar options were integrated. As in the case of those, we can choose whether certain contacts, or no contact, or no one else outside the contact book, will be able to see when we are online, or not, which is an extremely good measure implemented by the company.
WhatsApp has other similar changes ready for us, so we just have to wait for them to be ready enough to be released publicly and be officially available for us in iPhone and Android.
