BANCA Transilvania warns customers all over the country about FluBot, a very dangerous malware for Android that can quickly infect their phones. According to the warning that was issued by the bank, this malware was thought to be spread through malicious messages, be it SMS or messages on social networks.
According to the explanations provided by the bank, FluBot is designed to extract a variety of information from phones and send them to hackers. Among these information that the malware can extract is banking information, i.e. access data to mobile banking platforms, and even more than that, unfortunately.
BANCA Transilvania strongly recommends that we never install applications from unknown sources, no matter what kind of messages we receive on our phones. Applications from unknown sources can infect our phones with various types of malware, and either subscribe to premium services without our knowledge, taking money automatically, or tell hackers our bank details.
Considering the way these types of malware are thought, we cannot always realize that we are the victim of an attack and that we are going to lose money. In this idea, the best protection measure is prevention, and BANCA Transilvania tells us that we can prevent everything by not installing unknown applications.
