The new meteorological warnings issued by ANM, the National Meteorological Administration, for Romania bring to the attention of millions of Romanians the phenomena of atmospheric instability, quantitatively significant rains and heavy rains that affect almost all of Romania in the next hours, unfortunately.

A yellow code and an orange warning code were issued by ANM for the whole country, at various times of the following days, the maps below show very clearly in which of the regions of Romania we must be prepared for the announced phenomena to take place during the following hours.

CODE YELLOW WEATHER WARNING!

Validity period: August 22, 10:30 a.m. – August 23, 22:00 p.m.

Targeted phenomena: temporarily accentuated atmospheric instability, quantitatively significant rains.

Affected areas: as per text and map.

In the mentioned interval, there will be periods of accentuated atmospheric instability in Oltenia, Transylvania, Maramureș, Muntenia, Dobrogea and in the mountains, most of Moldova and locally in Crisana and Banat. There will be torrential showers, electrical discharges, wind intensifications and in places gales and hail. In short periods of time or through accumulation, water quantities will exceed 25...30 l/sq m and in small areas 40...50 l/sq m.

Note: In the southeastern regions, thermal discomfort will continue to be high.

In the north of Oltenia, the north-west of Muntenia and the south-west of Transylvania, there will be periods of torrential showers. In short periods of time, but especially through accumulation, water quantities of 40...50 l/m60 will be recorded and in small areas more than 70...XNUMX l/mXNUMX.
