The Government of Romania Announces the Settlement of Accommodation Expenses for Refugees from Ukraine

The Government of Romania officially announces that it will settle the expenses for the accommodation of refugees from Ukraine in the next period, the amounts for the first 3 months of 2023 have already been released from the budget, and will be sent to the people who offered accommodation.

The Romanian government also announces that money will come from the European Commission to settle the full amounts needed for the entire year 2023.

The people who hosted Ukrainian refugee citizens in Romania will receive, in the shortest possible time, the money due for the accommodation and meals of those to whom they provided a home.

We have found the solution and we are providing the necessary funds from the budget for the first three months of this year, for which data centralization is already completed. Afterwards, the amounts secured from the national budget, estimated at 200 million euros for 2023, will be settled by the European Commission.

At the level of the Government, we have already taken a series of steps so that, in June, Romania receives 110 million euros to cover the expenses caused by the humanitarian assistance offered to Ukrainian citizens, an amount that is added to the 41 million euros received last year.

Thank you to all the Romanians who offered support, humanity and solidarity to the Ukrainian refugees in our country!
