Games generated an impressive amount for Apple in December

The games were in high demand in the App Store in December, with the Apple company collecting a record amount thanks to them at this time of the year, the large number of new users contributing to the achievement of those from Cupertino.

According to a company specialized in analyzing data on the evolution of the App Store, during the month of December games generated revenues of 1 billion dollars for the Apple company, with 153 million dollars more than in November of 2015.

614 million downloads for games were recorded in December compared to 510 million recorded in November, so we are talking about an increase in both segments, as was expected for such a hectic period as the winter holidays.

Piano Tiles 2 would have been the most downloaded game of the App Store in December, followed by Cut The Rope 2, Monument Valley, Temple Run 2 and Geometry Dash Meltdown, but it is not known about how many millions or tens of millions downloads we are talking about each one separately.

Worldwide games category downloads on Apple's App Store grew more than 20 percent month-over-month in December, with nearly 104 million more games installed on iPhone and iPad last month than during November 2015. Revenue for the month from games neared $1 billion, up approximately 18 percent from the previous month's $847 million.

Regarding the top of the games that generated the most money, well Clash of Clans is placed in the first position with receipts of 59.7 million dollars in December, it is followed by Game of War with 31.7 million dollars, Candy Crush Saga , Madden NFL, and DoubleDown Casino.
