  Anul trecut au aparut pe internet diverse informatii care ne demonstrau ca la Apple angajatii lucreaza in camere fara geamuri, tin iDevice-urile in cutii care sunt legate cu lanturi de mese si lucreaza la proiecte false, compania avand un sistem de securitate extrem de elaborat care avea rolul de a proteja cat se poate de bine toate proeictele noi. Ei bine nu doar Apple pune atat de mare accent pe securitate, deoarece Microsoft procedeaza exact la fel si tableta Microsoft Surface a fost initial conceputa intr-un buncar in care inginerii mergeau si testau produsul. Desi la un anumit punct echipa celor care interactionau cu Microsoft Surface a crescut, Microsoft a pastrat nivelul de securitate ridicat si angajatii trebuiau sa treaca prin diverse filtre cand intrau/ieseau din camerele in care dezvoltau produsul.

Instead, the design team initially worked in what Stevie Bathiche, Microsoft’s hardware maven, calls an underground bunker with no windows. When the team outgrew that they moved above ground into a larger building; this one did have windows but it also had the kind of security you associate with bank vaults (or Microsoft’s cloud data centres for services like Office 365, which have guards with guns and take biometric verification to get into). Getting into the Surface building means going through airlock-style doors; the outer door has to close before you can get through the second door and go inside, so you know there’s no-one sneaking in behind you. Inside the underground bunker, the Surface team were experimenting with designs, from 3D printed mockups to get the size, shape and arrangement right to testing the performance of the Wi-Fi antennas.
