Does Orange require payment in advance for the subscription when purchasing an iPhone?

Today I found out that Orange as Orange started asking customers who purchase a new iPhone to pay 4 months in advance for the subscription made when purchasing the terminal (I don't know if the situation is the same in case of extension). This obligation is apparently required only by the employees of the physical Orange Shops, and in the online store purchases can be made as before without any kind of advance. I knew that Vodafone required the payment of a subscription in advance when purchasing a terminal, but this request was made only for certain people who did not present the guarantee that they would continue to pay the subscription after the purchase of the terminal. It seems that the people from Orange would have exactly the same motivation, but only in physical stores.

I have not received any official answer from Orange, although I have asked someone about this rumor, so for now everything remains at the stage of probability. However, do you know people who were asked to pay an advance when they purchased an iPhone 4 for a new subscription or when renewing an old one?

UPDATED : It seems that Orange changed the fees for new subscriptions. It seems that advance payment for 4 months is required for customers who have been in the network for less than 30 days and represent:

  • count of 4 months of subscription
  • the new way of calculating the fee applies to Pantera 20, 40, 80 and Pantera iPhone 29, 49 voice subscriptions
  • the fee will cover the first 4 months of subscription in the customer's contract
  • The fee is applied to new customers, with the exception of those coming from another network through porting.
