The Kick – an iPhone case that helps you take better photos (Video)

iPhones have more than decent cameras considering that we are talking about smartphones, but they have a big "weakness" and here I am talking about the possibility of taking pictures in low light conditions. iPhones don't do very well in these conditions, and two Americans thought of making an accessory that would solve this problem. The Kick it's called the accessory designed by them and in the video clip above you have presented it. Basically, we are talking about an application for the iPhone and a case that has a lot of light bulbs installed that are controlled by the iPhone as soon as you mount it in the case. Using the included application, you control the way the case illuminates the area where you are going to take a picture and thus you can ensure that you will take pictures of a much higher quality, even at night.

Kick excels at animated light. Pick one of the cool built-in effects like Rainbow, Strobe, or Mood. Or, something more dramatic like Fire, Lightning Storm and Cannon shots. With the Kick and the Kick App you can also sample light effects from any video stored on your iPhone. Or simply sample light straight from the iPhone camera, while you use it. Just point the iPhone towards the light effect you want the Kick to recreate, tap the screen – and the Kick will emit that light! It's automatically stored in the effects library for use later on.

The iPhone application has a set of preset effects, but you can generate others and the application will automatically save them in its library, giving you the opportunity to redo them in the future. The Kick has a very complex system for controlling the light emitted in front of the iPhone, but you should know that its effects are not "seen" best only in the case of pictures taken of objects that are in the immediate vicinity of your iDevice. The Kick is waiting to be financed through the kickstarter website, it has already raised half of the required amount and it seems that in a month its developers will have the necessary funds to produce it.
