Here's how Tim Cook was convinced to change the song used for the customer relations service

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), is a company that tries to offer the best possible services, regardless of their type, and the people in its management team attach great importance to the details related to them. In this idea, Tim Cook he was convinced by a user to change the melody used for the customer relations service, the one used until then, which could even worsen the mood of the customers.

I once sent Tim an email about the quality of music while on hold with Apple. It was super low quality, therefore an upbeat rock song sounded like pure distortion and really aggravated me because I was on hold for 20+ minutes for something so simple (iPhone didn't turn on, needed to set up a repair as in my country no Apple Store = have to send it to another country).

The user in question waited for 20 minutes to get in touch with an employee of the customer relations service of those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, during which he listened the song then used by the company for tap dancing. Not satisfied with its quality, he sent an email to him Tim Cook in which I complained about the song used by the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, his email, ultimately leading to its change.

Much to my surprise a lady from Cupertino called me up the next day, saying she'd received a concerning email from Tim about ugly distortion hold music while on the phone, that Tim had tested this himself and agreed that something had to be done. She assured me that the hold music would be tested to make sure it sounded pleasant on all types of phones and connections.

Testing the "problem", Tim Cook had his people fix it, an Apple representative then called the user to assure him that the song would be replaced with a more pleasant one, which happened in the end.
