Uber announced today an interesting news for those who use its services in Bucharest, more precisely the possibility to schedule the races up to 30 days in advance. In the image below you have a map of the areas where the races can be scheduled, so we are talking about the urban area of Bucharest, excluding the neighboring areas of the capital.
UBER rides can be scheduled directly from the smartphone application, the uberX and uberSELECT services being available for interested customers. If this project will be successful in Bucharest, then it will be extended to other areas of the capital, plus the city of Cluj Napoca, where UBER is also somewhat available for customers.

Uber launches in Bucharest the option to schedule a ride in application

Bucharest, September 28. From today, Uber users in Bucharest can schedule a ride with uberX or UberSELECT 30 days in advance.
To begin with, scheduled rides will be available in most areas of Bucharest, (such as in the central area, Dristor, Berceni, Tei). New functionality nu it will be currently available in areas such as Otopeni, Pipera, Voluntari or in the area of boulevard 1 Decembrie, where it will gradually expand in the next period. Users who will be there will not have the option active in the app.
"The ability to schedule a ride in the Uber app is by far the most common request from our users, especially for rides to the airport in the morning. And while we pride ourselves on giving people the option to push a button and get a ride within minutes, we understand that our users need more assurance that a car will be there when they need it. This is just the first of a series of new features for the Uber app that we will be announcing over the next period that will bring the app even closer to the needs of passengers," said Nicoleta Schroeder, General Manager, Uber Romania.
How it works:
- select uberX or UberSELECT and press "Schedule a ride";
- determine the day, time, address and destination of the scheduled ride;
- confirm the ride details and press "Schedule uberX/ UberSELECT";
- the application will provide a 15-minute interval in which the car will arrive at the selected address;
- you can cancel the ride at any time, with the note that if you cancel 5 minutes after the car has left for the address, the cancellation fee will be applied, as in the case of a regular ride;
- Uber will send notifications 24 hours and 30 minutes before the scheduled ride time, as well as when the car has left for the pickup address
- users will be notified if the dynamic fare applies (it applies based on traffic conditions, just like normally ordered rides).
