HDR10+ OFFICIALLY Launched IFA Berlin 2018

HDR10 + was officially launched today at IFA Berlin 2018, Panasonic presenting the first TVs that will be compatible with this new standard. We are talking about a standard that was developed by Panasonic in collaboration with Samsung and 20th Century Fox, HDR10+ being a competitor for Dolby Vision, but with a big difference.

HDR10+ will be a more open and cheaper standard for implementation by anyone who wants to, without charging expensive licenses, so we will see it in many more devices than Dolby Vision. HDR10+ is a standard that aims to bring to the market video content that has a higher quality than the existing one, Apple already providing support for HDR10.

HDR10+ will be used for most of the content to be released by 20th Century Fox in the next period, and Warner Bros will also offer it. We are talking about films and series that come from producers who have released a lot of high-quality content, so HDR10+ will come together with films that will be worth watching by customers.

HDR10+ will definitely be implemented in mobile phones, many already have HDR10, so the transition to the new standard will most likely be offered next year. Considering that Samsung helped to develop HDR10+, it is clear that its phones will have the technology, after it will be integrated into the TVs, so it remains only to see the first available content.
