RCS & RDS. Orange, Telekom, Vodafone, they will have, unfortunately, a extremely bad news for customers in Romania, and this in the conditions where the expectations were completely different regarding what was being prepared. More precisely, although everyone expected that RCS & RDS, and the rest of the companies, would allow their customers to access 5G services without activating special subscriptions, well, the operators thought differently about the strategy for the 5G networks in Romania.

So far we know that Vodafone launched the first 5G network in Romania, and the operator has coverage only in Bucharest for now, but for those interested in using it, there will be a condition. More precisely, those from Vodafone announced that they will launch special subscriptions for accessing 5G services in Romania, which we could see including from RCS & RDS, or other telecommunications operators, so it's good to be prepared.

RCS & RDS. In Switzerland, for example, customers have to activate a 10 euro option and can use the internet traffic from the subscriptions including the 5G network, so they don't need any special subscription for that. In Romania, things cannot be as simple because of the greed of telecommunications operators, so that from RCS & RDS, or other telecom companies, we could see expensive special subscriptions that would allow us to use their 5G services in the country.
RCS & RDS. If it is required that the auction for 5G frequencies bring 1 billion euros to the budget of the Romanian Government, then it is expected that these subscriptions will be imposed by the operator, but this does not seem to happen anymore. Since GEO 114/2018 is to be radically modified, and the obligation to obtain 1 billion euros for 5G licenses would disappear, then RCS & RDS, and the rest of the operators, should offer us services at decent prices.
RCS & RDS. I would like to believe that Digi will give a big slap in the face to the operators who will demand a lot of money for 5G subscriptions, but I have to be reserved and say that they could do exactly the same thing.
