Vodafone 5G Romania

Vodafone. He announced today the launch of the first 5G network in Romania, a first that puts the operator in a theoretical advantage over the competition for this new technology, but which in reality means nothing. Vodafone has announced the launch of the 5G network for the Pipera - Voluntari area, following which the 5G coverage will be extended to other areas of the capital, but for now it is not very clear when this should happen in 2019.

Vodafone. Although it launched the first 5G network in Romania, the mobile phone operator does not offer phones that are compatible with the 5G networks in our country, so the network cannot actually be used by customers. Those from Vodafone said that sometime in the summer they will have available the first phones compatible with this 5G network, so basically at the moment it's something made just to be, without any real utility, although 5G phones exist in Europe.

Vodafone. The mobile phone operator's 5G network will allow you to reach theoretical download speeds of up to 955 Mbps, and 53 Mbps for upload, but of course the actual speeds will be lower. Practically, Vodafone's 5G network should be 1 Gbps, and customers will be able to connect to it using compatible phones, without changing SIMs, but apparently without special options available in their subscriptions.

Currently, the 5G Supernet network is available in the Pipera-Voluntari area, where there is a concentration of customers, but we will expand in the coming period to Băneasa and other areas of the Capital, plus several cities in the country.

Vodafone. The operator's representatives say that all those who have 5G compatible phones will be able to experience the new speeds, including in certain central areas of the Capital, although for now it is not very clear what this means. Practically, although the network is launched for the Pipera - Voluntari area, it seems that there are some 5G towers in the center of Bucharest as well, but Vodafone has not yet listed the locations where the speeds can be tested by customers.

Vodafone. It is very possible that the operator was in a hurry with the network it launched today, but someone had to do it, because 5G networks will arrive in increasing numbers in Romania in 2019.
