The Government of Romania, through the CNSU, took an emergency decision this evening, and banned all flights coming from Great Britain to Romania, or those departing from our country, and I hope there, so that all those who are affected should to know about this change.
The Romanian government took this decision after other EU countries took similar ones following the discovery of a new strain of the Coronavirus that is believed to be up to 70% more contagious than those that have been discovered so far.
"Art. 1 (1) The inclusion of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the list of countries/areas/territories of high epidemiological risk for which the measure of quarantine is instituted on persons arriving in Romania from them is approved.
(2) The measure provided for in para. (1) applies starting from 21.12.2020 at 00.00.
Art. 2 The suspension of flights to/from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from/to Romania is approved, for all airports in Romania, for a period of 14 days, starting on 21.12.2020 at 19.00, except for flights provided for in art. 4 point 2 of Annex no. 3 to GD 1.065 of December 14, 2020 regarding the extension of the state of alert on the territory of Romania starting from December 14, 2020, as well as establishing the measures that are applied during it to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Art. 3 This decision is communicated to all components of the National Emergency Management System, for implementation through orders and administrative acts of their leaders."
