Marcel Ciolacu: LAST-MINUTE EMERGENCY Ordinance Announced by the PSD President

Marcel Ciolacu URGENT LAST HOUR Ordinance Announced PSD President

Marcel Ciolacu, PSD president, announced a new Emergency Ordinance that the Romanian Government is preparing to adopt for millions of Romanians throughout the country, and this is because he wants to bring to people's attention a series of measures that will be taken by the coalition of government to reduce expenses in the public system.

Marcel Ciolacu says that it is not about austerity measures, but about measures aimed at helping the Romanian Government to better overcome the current problems, and separately he also talks about the overtaxation of salaries, which has nothing to do with the private system in Romania, at the present time.

"From what I know, I can tell you that at the beginning of next week, I am firmly convinced that a coalition will take place, and the principles have been approved anyway, and the respective ordinance will be made transparent, and then promoted in the Government. It is not an ordinance of austerity, false! That is, we try to take care of politics, but it is not an ordinance of austerity.

In the moments when you have overcome, and are trying to overcome the effect of several overlapping crises, it is correct and responsible for a Romanian Government to come up with a series of very clear rules regarding the spending of public money. You can do an analysis to see where it went wrong, what are the opportunities, in the end, just like we do in our families, and see what the priorities are.

We can't pretend we didn't have an energy crisis, we can't pretend we didn't have a pandemic, we can't pretend we didn't have a war on Romania's border. All these things lead to a responsibility on the part of the Government, the governors, and politicians, to come up with such things.

I repeat, we are not talking about an austerity ordinance, we are not talking about what happened in Romania not too long ago, when pensions and salaries were cut. PSD has never done this, and will never do it. Romania is not allowed to lose a single euro from the PNRR, much less to lose money because it did not pass the milestone with the special pensions law.

There was never any talk about the private environment (n. ed. regarding the overtaxation of salaries), there was talk about an injustice towards the Romanians, a legislative abuse, too much tolerance of certain decision-makers in the past, and we reached a threshold of crisis social for this injustice that was done in Romania, this must be closed."
