S-ar parea ca Apple ne-a pregatit cateva surprize destul de neplacute in noul iOS 4.0, cel putin asa sustine un angajat al companiei care ofera aceste informatii sub pseudonimul “Alpha” pentru a-si ascunde identitatea, si desigur a-si pastra slujba. Conform acestui angajat Apple a inclus in noul iOS 4.0 cateva linii de cod prin intermediul carora Apple si AT&T verifica prin intermediul unui mesaj la fiecare 7 si 14 zile, fara ca noi sa stim, ce firmware si baseband avem noi in telefon iar daca acestea nu sunt corespunzatoare cu ultimul firmware disponibil de la Apple atunci pe ecranul telefonului va fi afisat un measj prin care suntem anuntati ca exista un update pentru telefonul nostru si ar trebui sa il instalam. La 7 zile de la primirea acestui mesaj Apple si AT&T verifica iar telefonul si culeg informatii despre el fara ca noi sa stim iar daca firmware/baseband-ul nu sunt cele corespunzatoare atunci veti primi un mesaj prin care sunteti obligati sa faceti update la ultimul firmware. Daca reusiti sa inchideti telefonul si sa scapati de acest mesaj atunci dupa o perioada scurta de timp, probabil tot 7 zile, veti primi un mesaj prin care sunteti anuntat ca trebuie sa va conectati telefonul la iTunes si sa ii faceti update, daca nu faceti acest lucru atunci veti pierde semnalul retelei si singura modalitate de a mai folosi iPhone-ul ca telefon va fi prin instalarea ultimului firmware disponibil.
Mai mult decat atat, Apple prin aceste mesaje aduna informatii despre telefonul vostru si in cazul in care aveti probleme cu garantia exista foarte mari sanse sa fiti refuzat deoarece angajatii Apple vor sti daca telefonul vostru are/a avut sau nu jailbreak facut.
As far as Base Bands go it does not matter what baseband you TRY to get on the iPhone cause in the iOS4 there is a line of code we wrote that stands for OAU also known as “Over Air Updates”. How it works is every 7 to 14 days We (Apple) and AT&T send a message to your iPhone that gathers some data from your iPhone without you knowing and we see what is running, baseband and firmware. We then send a following message. “There are optional updates for your iPhone, Would you like to install them now?” two options “Yes” or “Later”. Those are what would would call “OPTIONAL UPDATES” Now there are things called “MANDATORY UPDATES”. They tend to work the same way, grab data from the iPhones sends it to AT&T and us then back to your iPhone with the message, “Your iPhone (name of iphone) must be updated to the current AT&T standards to run”, your only option is to “Accept” Now you can try to work your way around it until you get the second mandatory message again “You must plug iPhone into iTunes and update” If you don’t do this you will then receive no Signal from the network anymore and your iPhone will potentially lock up with no signs of use until you update your iPhone via iTunes. You all agreed to this terms and condition when you installed iTunes 9.2 and then again once you updated to iOS4.
With that being Said go ahead Try to unlock the iPhone it will only last 14 days max then you will have to break that update for that one week then again and again we currently have 6 months worth of updates for this iOS4. Apple and AT&T now have complete control over their iPhones and what their customers are putting on them without them knowing anything about it. Many of the people I work with don’t agree with this but even in our computers when people call in to Apple Care Support we can see if your iPhone is running a jailbreak and what baseband is currently on the iPhone. We have been instructed to not support any one with these things and possible void your warranty of the iPhone for Breaking a contract Rule.
Asa intelege Apple sa lupte impotriva jailbreaking-ului si a decodarii, prin invadarea vietii personale a oamenilor adica prin incalcarea legii. Din momentul in care noi cumparam telefonul acesta este proprietatea noastra si noi decidem ce facem cu el sau softul din el, iar Apple nu poate decat sa ne refuze garantia sau sa intervina impotriva noastra daca noi distribuim acest software modificat. Sincer sa fiu mi se pare cea mai mare greseala pe care Apple a facut-o vreodata, daca e intr-adevar adevarat tot ce a spus acest personaj, si cu siguranta vor exista multe persoane care ii vor da in judecata.
Deocamdata aceste informatii se refera strict la AT&T insa exista posibilitatea ca si ceilalti operatori sa foloseasca aceasta metoda pentru a verifica daca iPhone-urile vandute de ei sunt folosite in reteaua lor sau daca au fost jailbroken sau nu.
