In locul clasicului touchscreen, smartphone-ul are implementat un touchscreen special care este capabil sa transforme continutul in tipare ce pot fi atinse, ele avand forma literelor alfabetului Braille. Indienii au avut ideea de a dezvolta acest smartphone vazand ca o foarte mare piata este ignorata de catre marii producatori de terminale mobile, ei gandindu-se ca pot veni cu un produs inovator care va fi achizitionat de multe persoane cu handicap de vedere.
We have created the world’s first Braille smartphone. This product is based on an innovative ‘touch screen’ which is capable of elevating and depressing the contents it receives to transform them into ‘touchable’ patterns. The response during the test has been immense. It comes out as a companion more than a phone to the user. We plan to do more advanced versions of the phone in the future.
Smartphone-ul foloseste Shape Memory Alloy, o tehnologie care permite materialelor sa retina forma initiala, dar sa se dilate/contracte in timpul utilizarii. Deocamdata nu exista un clip video in care smartphone-ul este prezentat functionand si nu se stie cat de viabil este intregul proiect, insa ele se anunta a fi interesant.
