Bucharest. POLLUTION map in the Capital, in REAL Time

Bucharest. Now you can see the pollution map in real time for the Romanian capital, so you can know when to leave the house, and when it is better to stay at home.

Bucharest pollution

Bucharest. The capital of Romania is the largest city, the richest, the most congested, but also the most polluted, and from today there is the possibility to see how good the air quality is in several areas of the city. We are talking about an independent air quality monitoring system in Bucharest, which was launched a month ago, during which data was collected to create a history of the level of pollution, but also forecasts of what will follow.

Bucharest. In the capital, 7 air quality monitoring sensors are installed, mainly in the south, west and north areas, but there are also two others installed in the east and southeast of the city, as you can see on the map. You can also see on the map that the highest pollution is registered in the Militari district of Bucharest, close to the A1 highway exit, and the best air quality is registered in the Heroes area, the difference being big compared to Piata Romana, for example.

Bucharest pollution 1

Bucharest. You can see the information in real time this page, and you can find out details about various measurements taken by sensors in the city, including temperature, humidity, or even atmospheric pressure. 15 sensors are installed in Bucharest to measure air quality, and they confirm what we already knew, namely that we live in one of the most polluted capitals in the world, but that was to be expected, with so many cars on the roads.

Bucharest pollution 2

"PM 2.5 is the most dangerous suspended dust detectable in the air, especially in big cities. The body's defense cells mistake them for bacteria and try to kill them. As they are not bacteria, the immune system cannot "kill" them, and the result is a permanent inflammation of the lung tissue. As a rule, these powders also contain active substances, which generate a lung disease process similar to that caused by smoking or aging."

Bucharest. The sensors installed in the capital can monitor the level of PM10, PM2.5 and Pm1 particles in the air, and unfortunately they always exceed the maximum value allowed for the human body. Apart from the sensors in Bucharest, there is another one in Ploiesti, and there the pollution level is not much different, but it would be interesting to see sensors also installed in the cities at the foot of the mountains.
