NASA: SCARED The Whole World with an ALERT for a New ASTEROID

NASA issued a new alert today for an asteroid that comes surprisingly close to Earth, here's how small the distance will be, and how big the risk is.

NASA SCARES THE WORLD ASTEROID ALERT

NASA scared a lot of people today with a new alert for an asteroid that is small in size, but that is coming today with even greater speed towards the Earth, and is coming surprisingly close compared to others. According to the measurements made by NASA, an asteroid with the name 2019 SU8 and a diameter of only 6 meters, is speeding toward Earth today, and will be seen by many astronomers in the next few hours.

NASA says that the asteroid is heading towards the Earth at a speed of almost 40.000 KM/h, and considering its proximity to the Earth, it could hit the Earth's surface, although it could not cause too much damage. Of course, this will not happen, NASA stating that this asteroid will not hit the planet either, despite the fact that an alert was issued due to the fact that it is approaching the planet we live on at a surprisingly high speed.

NASA: SCARED The Whole World with an ALERT for a New ASTEROID

NASA has calculated that this asteroid with a diameter of 6 meters will approach at a distance of only 192.000 KM from the Earth, that is, less than half of the distance between the Earth and the Moon. Normally, such large asteroids do not approach at such small distances from the Earth, but that is exactly why NASA issued an alert for this one that can be seen today by astronomers, it being a rather rare one, and it could have a deviated trajectory more.

NASA also issues alerts for asteroids that pass millions of kilometers away from Earth, so in this situation we are talking about something unusual that puts things in perspective. Although the Earth is hit daily by quite a lot of asteroids, the vast majority are so small that they are completely disintegrated in the atmosphere, but in this situation the asteroid could reach close to the surface and cause damage, and that is why we are alerted.

NASA issues daily alerts for asteroids, but I come back and tell you that it is rare to record one that comes so close to the Earth and has such a large diameter.
