The Government of Romania, through the Prime Minister, Florin Citu, announced great news today, and this is because Romania will receive 170.000 more doses of BioNTech Pfizer vaccine compared to what we were supposed to receive initially.
"Fantastic news for Romanians!
In March, Romania additionally receives over 170.000 doses of vaccine produced by BioNTech-Pfizer, thanks to which it will be able to expand the vaccination capacity to limit the spread of the virus in heavily affected areas.
The European Commission has negotiated with BioNTech-Pfizer the early supply of a larger number of doses to allow the acceleration of vaccination in outbreak areas.
An additional 4 million doses will be able to be distributed to Member States, equitably, according to their population, by the end of March, in addition to the doses already scheduled for delivery this month."
