Romanian Government: New Measures for the Vaccination Campaign

Government of Romania New Measures Vaccination Campaign

The Romanian government has announced a series of new measures for the vaccination campaign in Romania, their purpose being to convince more Romanians to get immunized in the next period after few Romanians were vaccinated in the last weeks.

"News regarding the vaccination campaign against SARS-CoV-2
✔ Heterologous vaccination - supports people vaccinated with 1 dose and who later, for medical reasons, did not complete the vaccination schedule. Thus, vaccination with a different type of vaccine compared to the one administered at the first dose is allowed, when there is a medical recommendation certified by a medical document
✔ Vaccination of pregnant or lactating women – Pregnant or lactating women can benefit from vaccination against COVID-19 regardless of the type of vaccine they choose to use. According to scientific data, there are no risks for the fetus or the newborn or the infant, through breastfeeding.
✔ Vaccination against COVID-19, simultaneously with other types of vaccines – Vaccination against COVID-XNUMX can be carried out simultaneously with the other types of vaccines that are included in the national vaccination program, such as the flu vaccination.
✔ Administration of dose 2 and booster - - either by administering an additional dose based on messenger RNA administered at a close interval to the second dose, or by administering a booster dose, which is done at least six months after the initial regimen vaccination. The second recommendation basically targets, in addition to the population categories at risk, the rest of the population that received at least the first vaccination schedule.
✔Vaccination at educational units - The main method remains vaccination with mobile teams, but there will be educational units that will have vaccination points in the school offices. Each educational unit will display in the area accessible to the public which is the method of vaccination and the schedule, so that those who wish to be vaccinated, students, parents, grandparents and employees of the educational unit, know how they will do so."
