Coronavirus Romania: New Cases Registered on October 11, 2021

Coronavirus Romania New Cases Registered on October 11, 2021

Romania continues to register many new cases of Coronavirus due to the Delta variant which is spreading very quickly, the authorities failing to find a solution for the time being to convince people to get vaccinated and comply with the protective measures.

In hospitals, the situation is still very serious, with a large number of patients hospitalized in intensive care, but also very high occupancy in normal wards, so the authorities are looking for solutions to create more spaces where infected people can be hospitalized.

The vaccination campaign is starting to record more vaccinations during this period, but the numbers are still below what the authorities would like, especially when it comes to vaccination with the first dose, vaccination with dose 3 being now in the attention of Romanians.

"Until today, October 11, 1.365.788 cases of infection with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been registered on the territory of Romania, of which 3.945 are of re-infected patients, tested positive more than 180 days after the first infection.

*Regarding the "new cases not allocated by county", we specify that their number is determined by the changes made to the electronic platform through which the test results for the new coronavirus are reported and centralized. Thus, according to the new methodology, the test centers directly enter the results of the tests carried out, following which the epidemiological investigation is carried out at the level of the Public Health Directorates and the positive cases are assigned to the county/locality to which the infected persons belong.

**As for cases from abroad, these are cases of citizens who came to Romania having been infected in other countries. These cases were included in the total of new cases not allocated by county.

The coefficient of cumulative infections per 14 days, reported per 1.000 inhabitants, is calculated by the Directorates of Public Health, at the level of the Municipality of Bucharest and the counties. Below you have the graph made based on the reports received by the CNCCI from the Public Health Directorates:
