The Government of Romania: What Happens on June 1 and the Pilot Tests

The Romanian government says that on June 1st we can expect a relaxation plan if 35% of the population will be vaccinated by that point, and it is possible to see some relaxations, but everything depends on the number of people who will be vaccinated by then.

The Romanian government also says that pilot tests could take place at the National Theater and the National Opera to see to what extent it will be possible to resume events with people who have tested negative for infection with the new coronavirus, or are vaccinated.

"Yes, it is a plan of measures that shows how we will return to normality. We are not returning 100% to June 1, that is clear, but we will show a first step, what we can do when we have a vaccination rate of 35% and then we can also discuss the next steps. But, you see, it's conditional and I say it every time: it doesn't happen without vaccination! So, the return to normality cannot be done without vaccination! It is the only solution. We were closed last year, for two months, and we are not back to normal. So this is not the solution. The solution is to vaccinate.

I would like everything to be reopened sooner, but I think there are some proposals at the moment at the Ministry of Culture - I know that pilot tests are being advanced for the National Theater and the Romanian Opera. We'll see what they look like in the end."
