The Government of Romania: The third dose of the vaccine could be administered

The Government of Romania third dose of vaccine

The Romanian government, through Prime Minister Florin Citu, states that the third dose of vaccine could be administered in Romania to people who have already been vaccinated with both doses of Pfizer BioNTech serum, at least, and this is because of the new viral variants that appeared.

The Romanian government is still waiting for additional data from experts to be able to make a decision based on the cause, but the administration of the third dose is taken into account, so it is expected that it will be administered mainly to the elderly, or to those from the medical side.

"It is a concern that we also have. We will have several meetings with experts for the evaluation of scientific data published internationally. There are several categories of risk that are taken into account or considered, and here I mean people who have a very high risk of exposure, such as medical personnel and people who are vulnerable.

We will decide at the right time if it will be a problem to do a third dose. It is an aspect to which we are very attentive and in the coming period we will have more work sessions.

If a third dose is needed, we will use the same infrastructure. Certain software updates must be made. A declared Florin Citu at DIGI 24."
