Video: How iPhone 3G works on iOS 4.1

Yesterday I told you that iOS 4.1 GM is available for iDevices (although in reality it was available for some time) and some of you wanted to know if Apple managed to improve the performance of the iPhone 3G terminal, as promised. Looking at the video clip above, I would say that he didn't manage/want to do much because the iPhone 3G still moves quite hard and that without having multitasking/wallpapers activated, as far as I can see. Jailbreak doesn't seem to have done it either, so as soon as you install iOS 4.1 and jailbreak it, you will probably return to the same problems you had with previous versions.

Thank you Alex Toma for the video.

  1. I tested in parallel with the clip on the iPhone 3G (iOS 4.0.2 JB) and I want to say that there is a major difference in performance (considering that my iPhone, although it has JB, has all "tweak- performance options, including disable - total - of spotlight search). You can't expect a 3G to have the performance of a 3GS (like you can't ask a Logan to run like a probe). All in all, it seems to me that Apple did a good job and I can't wait for the update.

    My 2 cents

  2. Ok, now the next step would be a clip in which the performance of 2 3Gs is tested: one with 4.0.x and one with 4.1. I think that this is the only way we could get a clear idea about the increase in performance.

  3. From what can be seen in the video, it moves better. I was curious with multitasking and user wallpaper how it moves... Anyway, compared to my 3G with 4.0.1, jb, unlocked, multitasking and user wallpaper, it works much better. We are waiting for the jb and unlock.
@zaone, does redsn0w still work with 4.1? ultrasn0w I know no, that they changed the baseband

  4. Apple has nothing to do, my 3g sometimes has a hard time even on 3.1.3.
It has too little ram and iOS4 has more APIs and requires more memory.
I'm waiting for iPhone 4 in orange, until then I'll keep 3.1.3 because I'm happy that way.

  5. There is no way to make a good ios for all the deviations... At dak it would work well dw why would you get another one? He has to make a CV to convince you to get another one...

  6. hello... I also have a question... and if it's possible, please ZAONE... make a post about this problem fff I think many people would be happy.... I saw that it's not just my problem but everyone's, unfortunately :( I have an iphone 4 and until yesterday I had ios 4.0... not long ago I had an iphone 4 and I had ios 4.0.1 on it... now I updated this one to 4.0.1... unfortunately after the update I encountered the same the same problem as with the other phone...more precisely, HORRIBLE SIGNAL, from the maximum signal almost everywhere....) apart from the classic problem when I wait until the antenna is connected...:) now I have a maximum of 3 4 dashes and often everything drops... .. I went to google and searched for these problems and unfortunately everyone complains even with iphone 3gs, 3g that after the update to 4.01 the signal died ... some say that this is the real signal others say that it is a software error...does anyone know what's going on? what software do you have??? and how are you with the signal.... good evening and please do a post or something to find out what really happens after the update to 4.0.1 (it can be from ultrasnow) I have it from the USA... coded AT... well, thank you and I'm waiting for an answer

  7. I've answered this question before and for others, Apple changed the signal calculation system in 4.0.1, it's actually the same signal, only it's displayed differently. When I have 1 bar on the iPhone 4, an LG Cookie next to it has 4, so don't worry.

  8. thanks for the answer... what software do you have on ipohone 4 4.0.1 or 4.0.2? ....because honestly I prefer to have it as it was before and if 4.02 is also like that I suspect that 4.1 will be the same ……and it is not good at all 😀 ...thanks for the reply once again....

  9. thanks for the video Alex T. It's logical that it doesn't work like 3gs or 4, but anyway, a little respect for the many who still use iphone 3g was appropriate.
It scares me how ill-willed or incompetent those from apple showed themselves until ios4 when they left the gps module to be almost unusable on 3g, and on ios4 it works as if it were another module (it connects quickly to satellites and takes its position almost instantly), as well as the calculation of the position on maps via wifi which on ios 3.x was totally inaccurate, and on ios4 is extremely correct.
That's why I say: Apple is kind of playing with the customers and I say that it's more about incompetence than bad will. So with the new ios 4.1 vs 4.0x it can be a bit more fluent on 3g, but only as much as those from Apple tried...

  10. here you find 4.1GM http://download.imodzone.net/
...and about the UDID in this version it is not necessary to have the iPhone registered on the dev account. it can be installed without problems...but ATTENTION THERE IS NO JAILBRACK OR UNLOCK PROGRAM AND JAILBRACKME.COM DOESN'T WORK!!!

  11. I heard that there are some risks when you update an iPhone 3G with iOS 4. I am afraid that I will have problems later with the software. What do you advise me to do ? Update or NOT?

  12. Well, I don't know exactly what risks, but I heard that unpleasant things can happen and that prevents me from updating it. And I wanted to get someone's opinion on the best way to proceed. To update with confidence or to refrain. (On the warranty of my phone it says not to update because I lose it) But I would agree to lose the warranty but not have problems after that and have to take out money because I had nothing to do and I did the UPDATE. 🙂 Thank you.

  13. You probably took the phone from an online store that decoded it through a hack and that's why you have that sticker. You can legally update and not lose the warranty. Unfortunately, you probably spent the money on a decoded phone that is actually coded.
