The Government of Romania: The relaxations that take effect from June 1

The Romanian government announced for some time the relaxation measures that come into force starting on June 1st throughout the country, and now the moment has come when Romanians can enjoy a new series of measures designed to make their lives easier in this period.

The Romanian government took these measures thanks to the constant decrease in the number of new cases of infection in Romania, reaching figures even lower than those registered during the last year, which comes as very good news for all Romanians.

  • The protective sanitary mask will no longer be mandatory for vaccinated persons working in closed spaces where there are no more than five workers.
  • We increased the number of participants in cultural-artistic entertainment activities, held in open spaces, from 500 to 1.000 people. Only vaccinated people, with a negative test or those who have been through the disease can participate, under conditions of distance and wearing a mask. We have created the legal framework for over 1.000 people to participate in these activities, only if they are vaccinated.
  • We have increased the number of people who can travel in groups to eight.
Private events can be held - weddings, baptisms, etc., with 50 people in closed spaces and 70 people in open spaces.
  • The number of participating people can only be higher if all people are vaccinated.
  • Sports activities can take place both indoors and outdoors, with the participation of spectators up to 25% of the capacity of the space.
  • Participation above this limit is only allowed if all persons are vaccinated, have a negative test or are vaccinated before entering the event. Which means that vaccination centers will be organized at sporting events.
  • We have increased the number of people who can participate in cultural, scientific, artistic, entertainment activities, in sports or fitness halls, in training courses.
  • We have decided to reopen swimming pools and playgrounds, under health protection conditions.
  • We have established the increase in the degree of occupancy of the tables inside the restaurants and accommodation spaces on the seashore.
