I have noticed that lately there are quite a few questions related to decoding baseband 05.12.01 and new iPhone OS 4.0 so I thought it would be useful to make this article to clarify the world about these 2 questions.
First of all, think about decoding baseband 05.12.01 because no one will bother to do this 3 weeks before the release of the new firmware. Baseband 05.12.01 it depends on 3.1.3 firmware and releasing a decryption exploit now would be throwing away an opportunity to decrypt basebandacquis in iPhone OS 4.0 and this will not happen.
Secondly, the baseband from iPhone OS 4.0 it will be decoded for sure but you have to be patient because the decoding software will not be available immediately after availability iPhone OS 4.0. I want to inform you that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), will present iPhone OS 4.0 during the WWDC from June 7-11, however, the new OS will be available, most likely, a few days after the presentation, so not immediately. After it will be available iPhone OS 4.0 Dev Team will surely work to bring out solutions of jailbreak/decode but this will take time, last year the decoding software appeared more than a week after the launch iPhone OS 3.0 so you have to be patient. I can't give you other details now because I don't know, we will find out more after it is available iPhone OS 4.0.
