The law that removes the subscription termination fee came into force

Do you remember the article in which we were talking about the law that prohibits the introduction of clauses that provide for penalties for the termination of contracts? If yes, then you know that as of today the law came into force and applies to all internet/telephone operators in Romania. Any contract concluded today can be terminated at any time without any penalty if you did not benefit from any offer when you concluded the contract or if the trader unilaterally modified the contract. That is, if you did not buy a subsidized phone or did not benefit from any other offer at the conclusion of the contract, then that contract can be terminated at any time without any cost on your part.

Read this applies only to the contracts concluded from today, for the rest you will have to pay penalties if you want to terminate them.

UPDATED : It seems that the law also applies to ongoing contracts! If you bought a phone at a reduced price and you want to terminate the contract shortly after the purchase, then you will have to pay a difference that probably represents the value of the phone.
