RAM memory prices could drop, the iPad tablet one of the culprits?

The global crisis has left its mark on sales in the field of PC components and if until now RAM module manufacturers managed to keep prices at a high level due to sales in the server segment, now they are forced to lower prices to keep too many products blocked in stock. At the moment, RAM module manufacturers are complaining about low sales and estimate that the situation will not change soon due to the global economic climate, so they will have to lower prices to stay on the market.

The economic crisis was not nominated as one of the main culprits, but the iPad tablet. Manufacturers say that tablets like the iPad have little RAM, simple operating systems and do not have multitasking, so the processors manage to take over most of the work, without the need for large capacity ram modules. The same Samsung official stated that the iPad tablet with 256MB of RAM handles most operations as well as a netbook with 1GB of RAM.

It's hard to say how much the iPad tablet will matter in this battle for the survival of RAM module manufacturers, but it's good to know that the big manufacturers see it as a gadget that threatens their presence on the market.
