The iPhone is definitely the "king" of gaming if we talk about smartphones and the iPod Touch is not far away considering that Apple has announced several times that their terminal sells better than Sony's products or Nintendo. However, it is quite difficult to play something on iDevices because the touch interface was not, is not and probably will never be game friendly because it is quite difficult to play something in these conditions. To solve this problem, several engineers thought of making gaming controllers, that is, special cases with buttons similar to gamepads. These controllers would be connected to the terminal and through the buttons we could interact with the game as if we were using the touch interface of the screen.
I for one would buy something like this to play on the iPhone, but only if the device was sold at a fair price. I wouldn't spend $100 on a gaming controller because I'm not really that addicted to games, but there are definitely people who would do that. My opinion is that when it comes to games, the only minus of iDevices is the touch interface and this type of accessories would "encourage" even more the sales of games in the AppStore.
