Samsung Galaxy S sold 10 million units, setting a new world record

Today Samsung a announced officially that the Samsung Galaxy S is the first terminal equipped with the Android operating system that was sold in more than 10 million copies. The Samsung Galaxy S is the first Android smartphone that managed to convince many iPhone users to give up their old terminals and that says a lot about the way this terminal is built. Those from Samsung announced at the beginning of December that they sold no less than 9.3 million terminals, but during the holidays it seems that the Samsung Galaxy S was one of the buyers' favorites and the figure of 10.000.000 was slightly exceeded.

Galaxy S has been on the market for only 7 months and represents a real success both for Samsung and for the Android platform, which had a spectacular growth in the last part of this year. Of course, the iPhone 4 sold much better than the Samsung Galaxy S, Apple managing to sell more than 10.000.000 million terminals since the fall of last year, and I suspect that on January 18 we will find out some very interesting data from the company. I'm glad that Samsung managed to make such a good terminal, because that's what led Apple to take their turn with the iPhone 4.
